Introduction

Before we start I have some notes for you on how to read the guide. Since this is the guide for beginners and intended to be 100% complete (collecting all items), I have made the guide into sections, accommodate with maps, and marks for everything.

After you completed the game once, you shouldn't need to read the text anymore, you can just see maps where to go next.

What You Need to Know

  • There are 3 main branches of ability tree: Upper Branch (Utility), Middle Branch (Efficiency), and Lower Branch (Combat).
  • I recommend you level up abilities in this order: Spirit Magnet (Efficiency), Quick Flame (Combat), then focus on level up Upper Branch until you get Triple Jump, after that you can decide whatever you want to level up. The reason is that Utility abilities are more important in helping you go through the dungeons. Combat is the least important because the game doesn't actually focus on killing enemies but rather reaching out to places.
  • Instant death is highly likely in this game, expect to die hundreds of times before you finish your first run. So, always careful and often save your game will help.

Symbol

SymbolI used a few symbols for the images to indicate different things:

  • Red Circle: Collectable item.
  • Red Square: Obstacle, door, switch.
  • Red Star: Special place, like Spirit Well (save point), key item, or important place.
  • Text without parentheses: Item name, for example, Keystone, Ability Cell etc.
  • Text with parentheses: Refer to action or note that you need to do, for example, (Stomp) means that you use Stomp ability.
  • Blue Triangle: Refer to the best place to do an achievement.
  • Red Dash Arrow: Path you need to follow.
  • Blue Dash Arrow: Path you need to follow, usually with some actions like push or pull rock.
  • Green Dash Arrow: Secondary path, usually a projectile's path.
