Introduction

This is one of my longest project so far due to the lack of resources, many tests, and exploration of collectable items. The most important part is to streamline the guide and make it easy for players to use because after part 1 of the game, it kind of make players lost and confused, didn't know where to go. Some of the dungeons may need you to finish certain side quests to make it easier rather using traditional brute force like Final Fantasy game.

Tips

Move around using map: If you are using a mouse, you can select red pin, quest indicator, or chest and move there. If you are using a controller, in the menu, press "Square" button then you can select those move point. Leo will automatically move to that location. This is very handful when know where you want to go.
Growth Map: Is where you're unlocking stats characters using SP. The good part is can you release SP can to unlock other skills depending on the situation. For example, fighting a specific boss requires specific skills.

Side Quests

Most of the side quests are optional, however, they seem to be important to complete in this game because they often provide equipment/items for beating bosses, ultimate weapons, and even access to New Game+. So I highly recommend you don't skip them at all.

Characters

There are a total of 8 characters, most of them have primary and secondary elemental skills (they deal more damage using their primary elemental skills). Table below is just a snapshot of the overall characters. I have a dedicated page for their skill list here.

CharacterElemental Skills (primary, secondary)Role
LeoFire, LightningDamage, Debuff
KinaHoly, EarthHeal, Support
CherylIce, DarkDamage, Debuff
ValrikaDark, IceDamage, Debuff
ZinikrEarth, HolyTank
TankPrickleLightning
Ez(Special crafting skills)Support, Heal
Tan(He has strong physical attacks)Damage, Solo

Unlike traditional Final Fantasy games where elemental dominance is a circle, for example, Fire -> Ice -> Lightning -> Fire. In this game, elements are weak and strong against each other. Fire damage is strong against Ice elemental monsters, at the same time, Ice damage is strong against Fire elemental monsters.

  • Fire <--> Ice
  • Lightning <--> Earth
  • Holy <--> Dark

Annotation

When using maps, I'll use the following annotations to make it easier to understand:

AnnotationExampleDescription
Star(B-01)Boss.
Uppercase Letter(A)Entrance/Exit to an area.
Lowercase Letter(a)Object of interest within the current area. Usually, you have check them in the order of the letters.
Circle(I-01)Indicate items. Items should be picked up in order of the numbers.
Diamond(Q-01)Quest and quest related items.
Dash Arrow- - ->Indicate paths you should follow.
